Story

Hi there!

Please support the University of South Australia Student Association (USASA) team while raising funds for Vinnies! On the 30th of August, we will be swapping our warm comfy beds at home, for a cardboard box outside, to get a tiny little impression of what it's like to be doing it tough every night.

Did you know that more than 116,000 Australians find themselves homeless any given night of the year? We think that's a pretty schocking fact and want to do our bit to support the fantastic services Vinnies provide to support homeless people across (South) Australia.

Please support us by making a donation. Big or small, whatever you can give, as every little bit helps! Thanks heaps for your support!

DID YOU KNOW?

$30 will provide someone a bed for a night when in need of crisis accommodation

$75 will provide for a course in life skills: cooking, how to prepare for a job interview or basic computing skills at TAFE

$100 can provide for one week's accommodation for women escaping domestic violence

$200 will enable a group of children to take part in school holiday programs

$1000 can prevent a family from being evicted from their home

Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice. Thanks so much for your support!

St Vincent de Paul Society (SA) Inc (Vinnies SA)

Operating since 1884, the Society in South Australia has over 2500 members and volunteers in 64 Conferences, 34 Vinnies Centres and numerous Special Works. They work together, supported by dedicated staff, to relieve not only the immediate requirements of those in need, but to identify the deep and long-term causes leading to financial and social hardship in our community, and provide a voice for the disadvantaged.

Each year the Society assists over 100,000 South Australians. This help is not limited to providing material goods, food and shelter, but extends to providing support, relief from loneliness and encouragement for people to help themselves. Vinnies relies largely on the generosity of donations from the public, and any surplus generated goes directly to supporting the Society’s good works, which provide a range of services to people facing disadvantage.

    Our services include;
Conferences - Serving people in need on a one to one basis.
Vinnies Shops - Providing quality pre-loved clothing, household goods and furniture for people in need.
Fred’s Van - Feeding the homeless and hungry.
Vinnies Men's Crisis Centre - Providing emergency accommodation and support to homeless men around the clock every day of the year.
Vinnies Women's Crisis Centre - Providing emergency accommodation and support to women (and their children)  in crisis, around the clock every day of the year.
Migrant and Refugee Committee -Welcome and help for new arrivals to South Australia.
Overseas Partnerships and Development - A contribution to world peace and understanding.
Amelie Housing  - Housing those in need.
